Lauren - in 1990 the Irish Govt made St Patricks Day more important so everyone around the world could learn about Irelands culture

Deanna - St. Patrick died on the 17th March,  416 AD

Jennifer - it's became an official festival in the 17th Century

week 4

Homework week 5                                  Due Friday

Personal Reading.    You should aim to read for 15 minutes each night.
Basic Facts. Complete the sheet.
Spelling.  Learn your words, the test is on Friday.

Write a character description.  We are learning to write character descriptions and its always good to practice things so you don’t forget how to do them.
You need to choose a character from a book you are reading and write a description.
Remember to include...
      -     A physical description - what does he/she look like?
      -     Interesting vocabulary choice – what words reflect their character?
      -     Background information – where does he/she come from or what kind of life
             has he/she had so far?
Also, simile(s), accurate punctuation & correct spelling

Its important that you proof read your writing.  I would like to see evidence of this, such as crossing out or adding words.
