Pre camp activities

Pre camp visit - Heritage Centre
Dear Parents,

Room 9 will be visiting The Heritage Centre at Brayshaw Park on Monday 14th November as part of their Marlborough Sounds focus leading up to camp.  The class will be away from school 11am– 1pm.  We’ll walk there and back, I’ve asked the students to wear appropriate footwear. I’ll keep an eye on the long range forecast, if it looks dodgy I’ll arrange transport.

The focus of the visit will be to look at different people who have come to the Marlborough Sounds (including Mistletoe Bay) - from the Maori to the European explorers, sealers/whalers and early settlers through to present-day immigrants.
Also, Anna Crowe will be visiting us on Thursday 17th November at 11am to do a ‘pre-stream’ study.  She’ll also be coming to camp for a day to work with groups at the local stream.

Regards,

Matt Robertson
