Collaborative whakataukī poster

After many weeks of work we have completed our collaborative whakataukī poster. We each completed a square but had no idea how amazing the final product would look!

This poster is of two Manaia.
The Manaia is usually depicted as having the head of a bird and the tail of a fish and the body of a man, though it is sometimes depicted as a bird, a serpent, or a human figure in profile.
It is thought to be a protector from evil. Some say it is a messenger from the spirit world.
These two Manaia link together to signify working together.
By completing this poster we worked collaboratively and exemplify the whakataukī message of “Mahitahi” working together.

Science

Last Friday we looked at what happens when you add detergent to milk and food colouring...

Leia:  we saw colours battling with each other as the detergent moved through the milk
Aiden:  the food colouring is washing away...a bit like when colour is washed out of a t-shirt.
Eva:  it was the detergent causing things to move...
