Collaborative whakataukī poster

After many weeks of work we have completed our collaborative whakataukī poster. We each completed a square but had no idea how amazing the final product would look!

This poster is of two Manaia.
The Manaia is usually depicted as having the head of a bird and the tail of a fish and the body of a man, though it is sometimes depicted as a bird, a serpent, or a human figure in profile.
It is thought to be a protector from evil. Some say it is a messenger from the spirit world.
These two Manaia link together to signify working together.
By completing this poster we worked collaboratively and exemplify the whakataukī message of “Mahitahi” working together.
