The stocky, moustached policeman arrived, bristling with nerves and curiosity. Today was his first day as a rookie and he did NOT want to disappoint the High Constable. Taking a long, deep breath,he pushed open the door….  (That’s VCOP!)

George Turner

The shimmering, black, cute cat scattered and scrambled along the old broken brick wall. Crash, boom, before very long the cute cat fell off the old broken brick wall. The brave cat ran away and was never to be seen again.

Week 7

Destination Marlborough Task
We have been working on making an advert promoting Marlborough and its amazing scenery.
Over the last few weeks we have been researching and planning.

The Marlborough Sounds is the place to go for a Holiday and is fantastic for  swimming, boating  and fishing!

EXAMPLE.
The policeman arrived   (VCOP this sentence)
UH Oh, I whispered as an elderly serious looking Police Officer knocked at our door.  We all peered nervously out the window.

Week 5/6

Gmail and google drive
This week in room 10 we have been given a gmail account hooked through Witherlea school. Available on gmail is google drive where Mr Robertson has set us two tasks. The first task was to write a list of why we thought Marlborough was a good region to live in and a great destination.
The next task was to watch a video promoting Queenstown, then we had to write down what makes a good advertisement video. This got us thinking about the advertisements we are going to do later in the term.

In  weeks 5 and 6, Room 10 have been working on watercolour art.  They have based it on the view of the Marlborough Sounds.  We had to start on the sky and worked our way down the page so we wouldn't smudge it.  Light colours first, mixing as we went.
NEXT:  we are going to add more shading using water-colour pencils, fine brushes and water.

Thanks,  Hannah M and Jake

3/3/2014

This week we are learning about investigations and graphs.

This is my graph, it shows Yr 6's strongest subjects. I made a pie graph on the computer to show it in a different way to a bar graph.

My graph shows that the majority of Room ten students enjoy playing soccer.  Anne
